Okey, so trying to figure out the difference between the ACM Awards and the CMT Awards is difficult enough. I’d rather figure out who Taylor Swift is dating, if she’s dating anybody at all (on second thought, that’s even harder so let’s ditch that idea). Let’s try to make it clear who is nominated for what category and for which award show once and for all.
The ACM Awards will air live from Las Vegas at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
Taylor Swift is nominated for the following ACM Awards:
- ACM Entertainer of the Year. Vote for her at VoteACM.com.
- ACM Top Female Vocalist of the Year.
- ACM Song of the Year.
- ACM Video of the Year.
Only the Entertainer of the Year is fan-voted.
The CMT Awards will air live from Nashville at 8pm EST. In an effort to make things a lot more confusing (thank youuuu, not!) they are asking fans to vote for the first round of nominations. Which are not the actual nominations, but the pre-nominations, if you will (let’s play a game, every time you read the word nominations in this blog entry, take a drink… of water – you will be going to the bathroom before you finish reading).
Taylor Swift is considered for the following CMT Awards nominations. You can vote at CMT.com:
- CMT Video of the Year for You Belong With Me.
- CMT Female of the Year for You Belong With Me.
- CMT Collaborative Video of the Year with Kellie Pickler for Best Days Of Your Life.
Taylor (the curly one who straightens her hair just to make everyone run around in panic) and the other Taylor (owns a collection of dark gray t-shirts) are also in the first round of nominations for the MTV Movie Awards for Best Kiss. You can vote here.
I’m not saying you have to but you might consider voting for these other great country artists too. Some of them are in the same categories, so I leave the choice up to you.
Gloriana is nominated for the following ACM Awards:
- ACM Top New Artist. Vote for them at VoteACM.com.
- ACM Top New Vocal Group of the Year. They won this one already!
Apparently if you don’t vote for them fairies might die. I’m not making this up. They are. Perhaps they went too far. Someone should have asked them something related to going too far first to make sure they didn’t go farther than they wanted to (It’s. A. Joke!).

Lady Antebellum is nominated for the following ACM Awards:
- ACM Album of the Year.
- ACM Top Vocal Group of the Year.

Please vote for Taylor Swift in CMT’s first round of nominations and don’t forget to vote for Taylor to win ACM Entertainer of the Year. Taylor’s next appearance will be Fresno, California on April 10. Also on April 10, the tickets go on sale for the CMT Awards, which take place on June 9. The ACM Awards air April 18! Confused?
