Hello, Taylor Nation!
The Outspoken One’s Speak Now tour hit the Twin Cities for one of two shows at the Xcel Energy Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Here at the Swift Agency, still one guy and yes we’re still doing that thing where we say that, found a very good review in the Minneapolis Star Tribune, that is both critical and at the same time insightful.
There are some spoilers, so use caution.
The Sparkly Dressed blurs the line between the glamorous and the countryside folk really well but the article remarks her biggest accomplishment as her ability to connect with both the young and the older at the same time. It considers the show a lot more polished but a little less pop and not as energetic as Fearless. Before you flame the author, keep reading.

There might be a little truth to that, which carries in itself a statement about Taylor. She’s growing up. As much as I like to remember her “old” entrance in the band leader uniform, remember she’s getting older too. I don’t want to give too much away, or this will be an inside article again. There’s some criticism but I believe it to be constructive.
You can read the original story in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
There’s actually a follow up to this article in the same site that you might want to read here. It’s also a bit spoiler-ish but we learn a few extras. The lyrics were “Love has a thousand faces” from 1000 Faces by Randy Montana. It also mentions that Taylor doesn’t introduce her band mates by name – that seems like an oversight on the author’s part since I’m sure that happens during Long Live. Still worth a read.
Update: I’m told Taylor also skipped introducing the band in Detroit as well, so now I can’t be sure.
Here’s the Enchantress herself talking backstage at the CMA Festival this year.
I know a lot of you are going to be screaming at the part where she’s detailing her goals and says going to South America, but remember it’s a goal – she does aim to go there, it’s not scheduled yet! It will happen. I’ve already reported Australia should be getting a Speak Now Tour leg in 2012.

I was there. She did not introduce her band.
I was at the June 14 show at the Xcel. While she did not individually introduce each member of her band and, rather, introduced them as a whole, she did introduce them as her “family.”
She introduced the band in Omaha the second night. I am positive.
Did she really do 13 of 14 songs from Speak Now? I didn’t think she was including Never Grow Up OR Innocent? She didn’t do those at Speak Now Help Now.
