Here at the Swift Agency, still one guy without a coffee maker but thinking about getting a teapot, we’re always thinking about new ways to highlight those other artists besides the Forever and Always Fearless One. In this case, we’re going to start a new feature called “Showcase” in which we pick one of the other artists that blog about and just showcase their music.
This time it’s The Civil Wars, the folk duo composed by Joy Williams and John Paul White. You probably heard a bit of what they sound like in the Safe And Sound clip that has been going around. If you like that style, you should really check them out. The funny thing is they’re both songwriters that tried to make it as a singers separately until they found each other during a writing session and started singing together.
To Whom It May Concern
Barton Hollow
The title track of the album, and I believe one of the best. Definitely a favorite of mine.
Poison and Wine
This would be their breakout hit, featured in the TV show Grey’s Anatomy.
Billie Jean (Cover)
They often do this song (yes, the one by Michael Jackson) as an encore.
Safe And Sound (with Taylor Swift)
You already know this one. There’s hardly any need for… Oh, ok, I’ll put it up again 🙂
There’s more but I don’t want to overload your senses. To learn more about them, please visit TheCivilWars.com.
