The Outspoken One is known by most people for her music, but on Glamour columnist Pamela Redmond Satran’s book, 30 Things Every Woman Should Have And Should Know By The Time She Is 30, her often overlooked personality shines through in what Taylor does best: write down her thoughts on love. According to Amazon,ca, the book was born out of an article by the same name in Glamour magazine, which quickly grew in popularity and now has taken life of its own.
The Sparkly Dressed has her own little chapter in the book, called “Having no deadlines for love or anything else” where she explores love and being single at the same time.
There’s this loving passage about her friend, The Agency’s own fiddle player, Caitlin Evanson.
Hopefully, at thirty, I’ll be like my friend and fiddle player Caitlin. Everyone thinks she’s twenty-three, but she’s thirty two. She’s just this carefree little hippie. Once, I asked her how she felt about getting older, and she said “I’m never going to.” She lives her life like I’m never going to act burdened and bitter and all the things that make people seem older than they are. Caitlin is also the kind of person who doesn’t fall in love often, but when she does, she falls in love love love love.

She also explains her single status in a very healthy and non-obsessive way: “So for me, being single is what I do, and falling in love is the exception.” The Enchantress is not turning into a cat lady anytime- oh yeah, Meredith… nevermind. Here’s another extract.
For now, I have absolutely no love plans for thirty. No deadlines. Just vague, blurry, pretty, daydreams. You never know what’s going to happen. I do hope that marriage and children are in my future. I think it would be unbelievable someday to be chasing around a couple of crazy little kids who have tangled hair and mismatched clothing because we let them dress themselves. One would be in a princess costume, and the other kid would walk around in a Spider-Man suit because he wanted to, and we wouldn’t bother arguing with him.
With daydreams like that, it’s almost impossible to fear turning any milestone age.

On another news, I wasn’t sure if I should do this but here goes: Happy anniversary to Kara and Amos Heller! Three years ago yesterday (May 10), the bass player extraordinaire married his best friend. You probably remember Taylor’s old blog with those scenes of their wedding, right? No? Ok, then here it is! The wedding scenes are on at around the 1:22 mark.
This video makes me nostalgic. It’s hard to believe this was three years ago… 🙂
