Who is ready for the CMA Awards this Wednesday, November 10?

The Outspoken One’s third album Speak Now has been receiving great reviews by most of the critics out there and making a killing at sales numbers, but the bad news is that it’s not eligible for any nominations yet. Here at the Swift Agency, one blogger to blog it all and still catching up on his sleep, would like to issue a collective groan and move on.

Taylor Swift herself is eligible as having performed (and outperformed) during 2010. The Fearless Tour itself already has its own Billboard Touring Award. This week starts on Tuesday with the BMI Awards which are invitation-only. Yes, Taylor is invited. We’ll hide in the curtains.

Lady Antebellum

A much larger gala and one we will be invited via live TV broadcast is the 2010 CMA Awards. The gala takes place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, November 10 at 8/7c and it will be broadcast by ABC. Hosting duties again befall to Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. Lady Antebellum is nominated for Entertainer of the Year as well as Album of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year. Taylor Swift is only nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year. Wait until next year. Because these things will change.

The awards are determined by voting from professional members of the Country Music Association. You can if you want participate in CMT.com’s poll of the CMA Awards nominee list. Just remember it has nothing to with the actual decision.

The Outspoken One is scheduled to perform. Lady Gaga canceled due to undisclosed motives. It’s. A. Joke.

The 2010 American Music Awards will also be broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, November 21 at 8/7c. Vote for Taylor Swift for Favorite Country Music Female Artist. Vote here. The Outspoken One is scheduled to perform Back To December.

The first ever American Country Awards will be held at the MGM Grnad Garden Arena in Las Vegas on December 6. Vote for Taylor Swift for Artist of the Year, Female Artist of the Year and Touring Artist of the Year. You can vote every day, but you have to register. The show is broadcast live on Fox at 8pm Eastern and tape delayed at 8pm Pacific.

Coming up! Well, actually coming up we can’t get past Wednesday, November 10 yet. Here’s another promo from Brad and Carrie.

Fundon calling! Taylor gets a Brit Award nomination

(Source: WireImage)

The Grammys are coming up! Who’s excited? I know one person is jumping up and down. We’re officially in Award season now.

Hope Tay is getting some sleep now because there’s lots of stuff coming up. Then again, we all know she’s probably baking cookies at night. Award season is here but she just made caramel’s delight. I’ll stop now.

The Fearless One herself chimed in last night on Twitter with news.  Swifty is nominated for a Brit award for 2010 for International Breakthrough Act. The Brit Awards ceremony takes place on February 16, just two days after the movie Valentine’s Day comes out. Based on the fact that she would be somewhere between Australia and Japan (I knew the Calendar would come in handy), I’m going to guess she won’t be attending either event. She has her first ever concert in Tokyo, Japan on the 17th. I know Fundon would love having her so if she wins, she might remote in via satellite.

T-Swifty’s new single from the Valentine’s Day movie soundtrack was made available today for digital download. Today Was A Fairytale is out as a single on iTunes right now for the US. No word on when it will be available internationally, but you can listen to it on YouTube.

Taylor’s next appearance is at the Grammy Awards on January 31st. She’s nominated for 8 awards and scheduled to perform.

We’re All Fans: The Taylor Swift Poster

(Source: CBS)

Are you excited for the Grammys yet? CBS is unveiling several posters like this one for their Grammy promotion as well as a new website: We’re All Fans. I seem to like this one in particular for some reason.

The Grammy awards show will be airing January 31st on CBS. Taylor Swift has 8 nominations:

Record of the Year: You Belong With Me

Album of the Year: Fearless

Song of the Year: You Belong With Me

Best Female Pop Vocal Performance: You Belong With Me

Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals: Breathe – Taylor Swift and Colbie Caillat

Best Female Country Vocal Performance: White Horse

Best Country Song: White Horse

Best Country Album: Fearless

Not excited yet? How about this, New Line released a new promotional still for Valentine’s Day that features the Fearless One!

The movie is set to be released on February the 14th. Correction: the Valentine’s Day movie opens on February 12, not the 14th. This according to the official website.

A couple of goodies will be available earlier. The album, which contains two Taylor Swift songs, will be available on February 9th. The brand new song is called Today Was A Fairytale. The other song is Jump Then Fall which is already available with the Fearless Platinum Edition.

For those who can’t wait (me included), Today Was A Fairytale will be available for download on January 19th. That’s what the single’s cover will look like on your left. I think you’ll have no trouble finding it on iTunes. Hopefully it also becomes available in Canada too…

And finally, if you’re not excited for the Grammy Awards yet (what are you, a robot?), here’s a way to psyche yourself up.

This short video features people singing Lady Gaga’s Poker Face but I’m wishing for a Taylor Swift version soon. As soon as that is up, I’ll post it as well.

Taylor Swift stopped at the Sound and Speed event in Nashville on January 9th, along with her family and friends, to meet the drivers. The event brings together country stars and NASCAR drivers for charity purposes.

She also donated $25,000 to the Wyomissing school district where she attended for three years. It’s part of her pledge to donate $250,000 to School’s education programs.

Taylor Swift wins People’s Choice Favorite Female Artist

(Source: taylorswiftpictures.net)

I didn’t enjoy watching the People’s Choice Awards. It was a very jarring exercise and I must confess I watched it solely to catch one curly blonde singer’s appearance.

Favorite Country Artist went to Carrie Underwood.  I was rooting for Taylor, but I will congratulate and be happy for Carrie winning as well. It was great to see Carrie on stage and I did see Taylor clapping for her too.

Favorite Pop Artist went to Lady Gaga. Again, I was rooting for Taylor here but Lady Gaga was also a deserving recipient. This was an unaired victory for Lady Gaga who also won for Favorite Breakout Music Artist. It was unfair that both her wins would not be announced on the show. Fans who voted for her didn’t get to see her accept or even get their artist name announced.

The Fearless One did win Favorite Female Artist in all genres. She came on stage to loud applause and thanked her fans for getting her there. It was her first ever People’s Choice Awards, It’s up to us the fans to make sure that’s not her only one.

Taylor Lautner accepted for Breakout Movie Actor. Taylor (the curly one) stood up for him, which was a nice friendly gesture 🙂

Now I will congratulate all artist on their wins, but I didn’t quite enjoy the pacing of the show and the decision to cut off a lot of awards from being announced. Too little awards and too much pre-recorded video segments. Parodies were fun, but burn time.  And a complete commercial disguised as a video segment inside the show? I’m sorry. I didn’t like that. I would’ve preferred to see Lady Gaga accept one of her two awards.

Here’s Taylor winning the award:

Fearless is Album of the Year 2009

Fearless Platinum Edition
(Source: Big Machine Records)

In a close race, Taylor Swift’s Fearless sold 3,216,000 copies.  Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream came in second place with 3,103,000. You can read the original article here.

Susan did win on physical sales. More people chose to buy physical CDs from Susan. Of course this blatantly exposes the age difference of who’s buying the CDs.

Susan still has to catch up with the Fearless One in overall sales.  Since Tay’s album is over the five million mark, that means she still needs to sell a couple of million more.  I’ll be fair though.  Susan’s album rise was impressive for that short amount of time.

Taylor is attending People’s Choice Awards tonight where she is nominated for three awards.  The awards show airs tonight on CBS at 9pm EST.

PCA will be streaming live video from the red carpet and backstage. Starting at 7:30ET get all the backstage buzz  at peopleschoice.com. You can follow the PCAs through twitter @peopleschoice.

Taylor’s not a scheduled performance tonight.  If you can’t wait, the following video has been making the rounds lately.  It’s an impromptu karaoke performance of Gunpowder and Lead by Taylor joined by Mallary Hope on a Christmas party.
