Countdown to Speak Now is now T minus 3 days… actually less than 3 days right now as it’s past midnight!
Pals Taylor Swift and Selena went out for ice cream. Because sometimes you must have ice cream. In the fall. In London. At night. In the cold. Outside. Original story on Gossip Girls.
They ran into a few friendly swifties, including a certain twitter friend of mine who is still in cloud 13 and can’t form coherent thoughts yet.
NBC will air a special called ‘ Taylor Swift — Speak Now’ will document the days of the Speak Now album release including a trip from New York City to Los Angeles, her multiple performances, behind the scenes footage and her concert 30,000 feet in the air on a plane ride across the country. The special airs on NBC at 8PM Eastern Time. You can read more about it at TheBoot.com.

Taylor will go brunette for Target, as part of an ad for the store chain. According to Celebuzz, it is only a photoshoot. Too bad, we’d like to see Taylor having fun with that look with a few funny lines. I’m sure there’s a behind the scenes about to pop up somewhere. Hint, hint. Ahem.
Another great article to read, albeit all articles are becoming heavily spoiler-ish, is the one from Los Angeles Times. A few new revelations are the fact that Taylor used an orchestra on two separate tracks of the album: Back To December, which I consider one of the best songs I have ever heard from any artist, and Haunted. I’ve heard so much about this song. Music insiders who have heard the album have described it as somber to the point of comparisons with Evanescence. Now I really want to hear that track.
Even more full of spoilers is this article from USA Today. I will spare you the spoilers, but the author had really done his homework and knew that Taylor uses highlighted letters in the lyrics contained in the sleeve’s CD to spell out a hidden message. So he managed to get a hold of one and took note of the codes. If you’d rather not know, don’t follow that link. Other revelations from Taylor in that article include the fact that Dear John and Story Of Us are inspired by the same person.
And speaking about Story of Us, E! News got an advanced peek at what Taylor says about that song. No, the song preview is not included.
I can’t wait to write my own review of Speak Now, but unlike industry insiders I don’t get to hear it early. That’s fine with me, I’m just another fan 🙂
