Hello, Taylor Nation!

It comes as no surprise that the dream in every ultimate fan’s mind is to actually meet the Outspoken One.

Not an easy dream to achieve when she’s got literally thousands of other fans trying to achieve the same thing. How do people get to meet the Sparkly Dressed? Do they deserve it more? Are they better fans? Did they spend more money? Well… no.

It was just luck… pure and simple. Yes, you have to be there. Yes, you probably were calling a radio station constantly for meet and greet tickets or managed to make this amazing costume that got noticed so you were invited to the T-Party. However, so did thousands of other people. What was different?

Believing got those lucky people there. Believing motivated them to not lose their patience calling, texting, sawing stuff together… you don’t get anywhere if you don’t try. But after that, it’s luck.

So if you don’t get there, if you don’t get to meet Taylor – I just want to ask, did you have fun?

Going to a Taylor Swift concert is a big, huge experience that a lot, a lot of Swifties worldwide do not get. The Enchantress has fans in a lot of regions of the world that are dying to get to see Taylor even at a distance, and would love to see her sing live but yet, they don’t get their wish. Not yet.

I’m not trying to make you feel guilty here. I just want you to consider all the perks you got when Taylor came to town, and remember everything you got to do rather than regret the things you didn’t get to do.

  • You went to a Taylor Swift concert. Do you remember when you got the tickets? Do you remember how you counted the days before the concert? Do you remember getting up the day of the concert?

You met other Taylor fans. Weren’t they nice? Did you see the other signs, the other costumes? They were so many cool ideas!

  • You probably waited outside to meet the band, if you got to meet at least one member of the Agency, that’s huge! πŸ™‚
  • You got some merch, probably stuff you couldn’t get anywhere else or that was expensive to order and ship.
  • You got to be in the same room as Taylor. Remember when she appeared? Didn’t your heart stopped beating for a second right then and there?
  • You heard her. She talked. She was breathing the same air than you and she was real.
  • Perhaps you got to see her walk by during the show. That was something. Didn’t she look beautiful up close?
  • You might or might not have managed to say a few words to her, even if everyone else was screaming.
  • Perhaps you got to hear her speak close to you, even if it was not to you. You will never forget that voice.
  • You saw all your songs played live. You sang to every song. You sang with Taylor.

And you will never forget it.

Someday, if you keep trying and the cards are right you might have your second, or minute, with Taylor Swift. But until then, don’t forget to enjoy what you can get. And if your dream is to go to a Taylor Swift concert, that just might happen.

Never, never, never give up.

  1. Wow You really helped me, I felt a bit sad. But you helped me realize what I got to do. Thank You πŸ™‚

  2. This is so true. It’s all by pure luck and if you’re at the right place at the right moment. I had my moment with Taylor on July 29th, 2011 and I will NEVER forget it. I also realized dreams do come true but you have to never give up on them.

    Thank you for writing this.
