Hope you’re having a happy holiday season! 🙂
There was an expectation regarding whether the release of Michael Jackson’s new posthumous release, Michael, would steal the #1 spot on the Billboard this week. On the race were the previous #1 album, Susan Boyle’s The Gift and Taylor Swift’s Speak Now, which was previously #2. To be honest, I didn’t really feel it was really much of an expectation. Well, it’s over now.
Taylor Swift’s Speak Now won. It’s once again #1 at the top of the Billboard. The Gift came in second and Michael came in third. Taylor may always have the last word but she’s also known for getting the first place when you least expect it. You can read all about it on the Billboard website.
In case you’ve heard about the figures promoted by the producers of the posthumous Michael album about it being the #1 global album, I’m going to encourage you to read this article on E! Online.
The Sparkly Dressed is nominated for the CMC International Artist of the Year by Australia’s CMC Music Awards 2011. Make sure you vote for her 🙂 All categories are fan voted and voting closes February 20, 2011.
Speaking about Australia and New Zealand, there are no news about Speak Now tour concerts for that part of the world yet in case you were wondering. Not just yet, anyways.
If you missed the chance to see it last time, ABC will be re-airing the CMA Country Christmas this Wednesday, December 22 at 9:30 pm Eastern, 8:30 pm Central. The show will feature performances of Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, Kellie Pickler, Leann Rimes, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts, Sheryl Crow, Sugarland and Reba McEntire. You can read all about it at the CMA Country Christmas website.
Taylor is not in the show, sorry. Expect a small nod during a clip with Rascal Flatts’ Gary LeVox and his daughter. His daughter confesses herself a Taylor Swift fan and immediately scolds her dad from making fun of her idol. That’s a Swiftie right there. Like I said about the last show, I’ll forgive Gary LeVox if he were to poke any fun at T-Swizzle since Taylor was actually an opening act for Rascal Flatts before she started headlining her own tour.
