The Billboard Music Awards: Lady Antebellum will perform

It’s been a while since we check in with some of the other acts in Country Music. First up the bat, and scheduled to perform at the Billboard Music Awards, is Lady Antebellum. Recently they also got the honor of having their single Need You Now become the most downloaded country song in digital history. The previous top spot was held by Taylor Swift’s Love Story.

Also scheduled to perform that night is Keith Urban. You can read the original story on Country Music is Love. I heavily recommend you catch him in concert if he comes by your neck of the woods. Other performers announced for the awards are Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, the Black Eyed Peas and Taio Cruz.

The awards are based on Billboard’s chart rankings as well as album, single and digital sales, touring, streaming and social media interaction. They will cover the timeframe between February 28, 2010 through March 1, 2011. That will include certain Mean songstress by the last name of Swift, since say what you will about her (just don’t say anything mean – I have ninjas standing by) she does sell a lot of records.

The Billboard Awards will air live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 22 on ABC. You can also read about it on Country Music Tattle Tale.
